Lina Koutrakos an Rick JensenSaturday August 15
“a two fisted dramatic approach...a defiant rock edge..”
— The New York Times

Lina is bluesy, earthy, and high charged. Whether singing standards from the American Songbook, putting her stamp on a pop classic or offering up one of her original tunes, she shows us why she was named Best Major Artist by The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs. If you caught her St. Louis performance of Torch last spring, you won’t want to miss her this time as she brings us an evening of all new material. Longtime musical partner, the award winning piano powerhouse, Rick Jensen backs her up.

The St. Louis cabaret scene has exploded in the past year. Kick off the 2009 St. Louis Cabaret Conference by celebrating the growing roster of exciting cabaret performers who call our city home. Highlights features many of those singers in one evening, performing selections from their sold out cabaret shows of the past season.

Firday August 14Tim Schall and Rick Jensen

Tim Schall

“a voice like honey”
— Cabaret Legend
Amanda Mc Broom

“... a consummate cabaret
performer”

— Cabaret Scenes Magazine

Cabaret Conference Producer Tim Schall premiers an all new performance created especially for Conference audiences. Schall takes the archetype of the traditional male crooner and drops it into the middle of the pop music catalogue of great male singer songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen and more. Rick Jensen collaborates with original arrangements at the piano.

Jason Graae and Alex Rybeck

“a one man arsenal of comic mischief with a real voice”
— The New York Times

What do you get when you combine comic genius with a voice of gold? The answer is Jason Graae. Jason left St. Louis audiences in hysterics during his performance at the Conference last year, as well as a few years back at the Edison Theater. Don’t miss this star of Broadway, film and television in an evening of great music and unforgettable laughter. The talented Alex Rybeck, a familiar face to St. Louis audiences, shares the stage with Graae — occasionally as the target of his humor and always providing expert musical support.
